Visit of the Delegation of the American Federal Country of Maryland to the Ministry of Defence of BiH
The Deputy Minister of Defence of BiH, Mrs Marina Pendes, accepted the visit from Adjutant General of the National Guard of Maryland, Brigadier General James Adkins, on July 1st 2010.
On this occasion, they talked about the extension of the Partnership Programme between BiH and Maryland, formed in the year of 2003. They discussed how Maryland country could continue to support BiH in going through the defence reform process and NATO joining.
Mrs Marina Pendes thanked for the current cooperation between the Federal Country of Maryland and BiH and confirmed the extension of cooperation, not only in the field of defence, but also in other areas, such as business and economic cooperation, student exchange, sightseeing offers, etc.
Mrs Marina Pendes said that, having in mind the developed cooperation between Maryland and BiH, as well as the evident mutual efforts made in order to extend the cooperation, not only in the field of defence, but also in other fields, the Ministry of Defence of BiH has been attaching a great significance to this visit, what had been done in the previous period.
During the conversation with Adjutant General Adkins, Mrs Marina Pendes emphasised some of the activities, of which full realisation has been the proof of a good civilian-military cooperation between the two countries and the activities, of which realisation has still been in progress and which realisation will give a great contribution to the development of general cooperation. She also emphasised the process of nomination of the liaison officer for the National Guard of Maryland, then the recognizable engineering projects of the National Guard of BiH, Exchange and Training Programme of the military police of the AF of BiH with the National Guard of Maryland, as well as the realisation of the first phase of the process of the establishment of the Operational centre. During the conversation, Mrs Marina Pendes met Adjutant General Adkins with participation activities of BiH in ISAF mission in Afghanistan, as well as with all the efforts, undertaken by BiH in order to fulfill the conditions for NATO joining.

Adjutant General James Adkins supported the extension of the cooperation between BiH and Maryland. At the end, both sides concluded that this cooperation should be the call referred to all businessmen, scientific institutions, private investors, travel agencies and other subjects interested in making good contacts and developing the cooperation on economical basis.
Adjutant General James Adkins visited Lt General Miladin Milojcic, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH. Lt General Milojcic thanked Adjutant General Adkins for the support given to the AF of BiH by the National Guard of the country of Maryland, and met him with the current situation in the AF of BiH and with further operations.
